Help please: UK members read this!

So here is the deal, I’m bored with my current job (and the fact that I’m getting paid a grad. student salary doesn’t help...)

I’ve got 7 years odd experience under my belt in publishing (mainly magazines) including writing, design/layout, brand ID and marketing. I also know my way around basic web design but print is my first love.

Anybody know anybody who’d be interested in taking me on? Please get in touch.

Thanks.

Unfortunately (in the US) experience doesn't mean anything any more. Without that piece of crappy paper, you don't amount to anything. On the other hand if you are still looking, then check with top companies in your area with lots of public eye on their products. Start watching TV and see what name brand food and/or drink products keep being advertised multiple times. Then, if they have a base of operations in the UK go apply for anything and everything in the sales, marketing, and advertisement areas.

Thanks Travis - I got a diploma under the belt, along with the experience...

Will keep my eyes 'peeled' and will pursue anything I come across - just wanted to put out the reefers of the world

Ah, heck. A diploma, too? All you have to do is go and apply and you got it in the bag.

I wish it was that easy, ha ha. Thanks for the kind words.

So anybody out there in London (UK) want me to join their staff?

Again, in the US, having that piece of paper makes a world of difference. But i digress. We have a fellow COMAS member switching jobs and moving from Oklahoma to the UK. You might want to PM him and ask him what he has seen that is available. He might not be able to help, but it's a start. His name is Paul (captbunzo). Tell him I sent you.

What's your point? I am, and it hasn't hindered my progression through the ranks.

(but then again, I've never worn anything but long sleeve dress shirts to work, so nobody knows)

@GSMguy, yip, I've pretty much got full sleeves, but nothing long sleeve shirts can't solve as Satori said (Thanks for late dude!)

Being a creative person, I don't think my tattoo's would be an issue... besides, I don't want to get stuck in some corporate enviroment anyway, ha ha ha.

Oh yeah, still available and looking for a challenge!
