That tank is way to small for a Sohal Tang....
I hope you plan on NOT putting a DSB in the main display....
with all that current you will have sand all over.... plus I think they are ugly.

This is going to be one hellofa tank... Twize is the man... The talk of RC

I hope that stand is aluminum. Otherwise you will be having a moving the stand from the garage to the fishroom party. Here is dinner, drinks and by the way could you guys give me a hand in the garage for a minute we just need to move one thing. Good luck getting it through the front door.

It looks like the builders did a nice job on the room. Keep the pics coming were all waiting to see what are new big tank goal should look like.

Wow - plans look great.

I notice you have a separate surge tank - how do you run the surge and the top off system? Do you plan to use a float valve or go with a fixed volume to top off daily?

I would love to add a surge tank to my planned 180 but haven't figured out how to make it work using a float valve in the sump.

I would go with the fixed amount daily. Would be pretty easy to fine tune every once in a while.

That is what I do. LMI Dosing pump on a timer.

Twinze,

FYI, I worked with Andy at TFS too for my Tenecor...Worked out well and he helped me out in a pinch when I figured out Tenecor drilled the wrong size bulkhead holes for the hardware I had. Nice guy.

mhurley, Thanks for the fyi. Andy's been great in working with me since I've made soooooooooooo many changes to the tank intake/return design.

Twize,
Would you mind posting the diagrams that Tenecor made of your tank design? Just curious to see them.

mhurley,
Sorry. Tenecor or TFS did not send me any engineered spec sheets on my tank (not like my tank stand design). The specs were pretty much understood by text and verbal communication. I did send a couple of my lousy line-drawn paintshop pics to them for clarification, but that was it.
