new aussie acans

Just put these guys in the tank a couple hrs ago and they were also just fragged today. Already the nicest corals I have ,along with my other aussie acan (the red one).

Soon I'm going to try an acan only tank where I can feed them easier and hopefully grow them out quick.

I've had this one about a month

together

It's about time us Canadians got something to make you guys jealous of!

Don't worry, lots of today's shipment was sold to a retailer in the states, you'll be seeing frags from this acan shipment in no time.

With as many retailers, I doubt I'll ever find it.

I believe you would know the retailers. I don't recall which ones specifically, but I knew them when they were mentioned in passing [likely in the "top 10" online coral retailers].

You sure ATL got those from this Canadian shipment?

ATL is mear miles from a wholesaler where they get most their Aussie stuff from.

I am hoping every month if not every 2 or 3 weeks but its unlikely. There are still a lot of regulations on the export of corals in aus.

Out of the 55 colonies that arrived (100 were supposed to arrive) I think at least 20-30 were sold to the US.

Another shop got in about 15 colonies from a different supplier. I'm picking up a frag of one of those pieces tomorrow. I'll post a pic of it in a day or 2.

If your talking about the orange one, there is one polyp on there with a green center.

Nice ones RandyO, I'm getting a frag of that red cherry bomb from someone soon, although its probably a bit different then yours. One thing I have noticed with aussie acans is no 2 colonies are the same. Even on the same colony some polyps can be different.

Too bad I missed you at reef raft, are you coming back down when Jay returns from hand picking?

I got a pretty good deal on my new acan. i purchased it over the weekend before the coral went online and it is very nice. I saw some really nice acan and duncan frags available as well, but I wanted a show piece coral. I got mine from http://justcoral.com/ in Ohio.
