Turbo Snails not happy?
I just bought three turbo snails at the LFS because I am having an insane amount of algae, and the guy told me the amount of nitrites I have wouldnt do much at all to them, but since I put them in they are just sitting there doing nothing, they are stuck to the glass, and sure as hell wont let go, but not moving around. Are they sick, or is this normal for turbos the first hours?

I'm keep laughing picturing you waiting for them to get down to business! How did you introduce them to the tank?

floated in the bag, let a swig of water in the bag every 15 minutes or so for about an hour. Then dumped most the water out, and grabbed them and put them in the tank(I would rather not put this LFS's water in my tank).

This seems to be pretty common from what I have seen in our tanks. We acclimate them for an hour or so then put them in they usualy sit there for quite awhile then by the next day they have all moved around.

that makes me feel better. I was encouraged by the fact that the spot I put them on (a dirty rock) was sparkling clean when i moved them to the glass.
thanks for your help |

You never know, tomorrow when you get up, you may not recognize your tank...

Yeah you really should have acclimated them longer by floating the bag and slowly added some of your tank water in the bag, like about 1/4 cup every 15 mins. for at least an hour our two. Some people take them out of the bag and let them attach themselves to the tank and let them waltz down at their own pace. Hopefully they will adjust and start moving about my tomorrow. Good Luck! Sorry,I didn't read the part that you did accclimate them!
