I think there is a social use for slavery. Put this guy at hard labor for the rest of his life and give everything he ever earns in a trust fund for that kid. And if the mother had a clue, and I'll bet she did, about this guy's character, put her in the same brig, same schedule.

I think there should be an exemption in the "cruel and unusual punishment" clause for child abusers. And don't give me that "it brings us down to their level" crap. That may be true, but everyone else can rise back up. They'll always be there.

But then you'd have all the paperwork and higher ups questioning how you could let this happen while he was in your custody. Then the civil rights attorney (there is always one big one in every town) will represent the family, because no matter the race of the molester, police were involved, therefore it must be race related. Then the national media gets involved and pretty soon you're under the FBI's microscope. *SIGH* Just can't win for losing...

It's really unbelievable. You read about a guy doing it to another adult in a fight every once in a while and i wonder how you could do it even in a fight but To do it to a 3 year old girl is really shocking even in this day and age!!!!
