Hi all,

What's the minimum tank size for these guys? I've been seeing mininum sizes of 75, and even 55 (http://www.marinecenter.com/fish/ang...atorangelfish/). I've also read 100G in alot of places. As far as I know, they do grow pretty big.

I just want to know what is the "right" information?

I think an 8' tank is a minimum for this fish.

I have mine in a 110g, he is about 5.5" but I have a 360g waiting to be set up for him. I'm worried that may not be big enough. Here's a pic of him getting cleaned.

I would agree, a minimum of 8' but always go with the biggest you can afford.

I kept one in a 180g for a while. I bought it as a tiny juvenile. When I gave it to a friend with a larger tank, I truly felt my 180 was a little small for it. It became very irritable and aggressive. These fish have extremely large territories in their natural habitat.

They are amazing fish however. If I ever decide to go bigger, I would consider another one.

One of my most favorite fish. I feel my tanks are too small though. I used to have one in a 350 FOWLR and it was really too small for that fish.

Keep in mind emperors (and most angels) will become very very aggressive if they feel the tank is to small. So you could easily have one in a 200 gallon but its aggression will be much higher then if you had it in say a 400 gallon. a 75 is WAY to small... I have had a few that were easily a foot!
