Corals you like, that do well in your tank.

My tastes don't change based on other's aesthetic choices, I choose my corals based on mine. Who cares what someone else has decided is `cool'?

JMO, but a beautiful grown out tank looks better IMO than a tank full of today's hot frags.

Couldn't agree more Mark.

My list -

Digitata
cap's
hispada

I really like montipora, all flavors at that. Maybe I'm too scared to try acro's

I agree with Mark, as well. The problem I see with a thread like this, is that if you look at the prices of the mentioned corals, they are the highest. But, what is making these corals higher priced is the fact that people often label them as the "wanted" corals. Yes, many of the listed corals are very nice, and I have a few, and maybe SOME of them even are even worth the price. But, listing them as "must haves" fuels the already high prices in our hobby.

JMO,

Dave

I agree. Green Slimer's are super nice. Indeed they are common, but are a perfect example of "hard corals" in my mind. When someone mentions sps, a yongei immediatly comes to my mind!

Ok I'm gonna play instead of saying "dont go by name go by what you like"

1 ~ A blue tort (any origin)
2 ~ Green slimer (lets face it we all have those neon sticks)
3 ~ Pink OR blue Milli (everyone has one or the other)
4 ~ M. Cap (I dont have them but 90% of sps keepers seem to have a few)
5 ~ A named incrusting monti (comeon...they are named because they are awsome...who would name a brown one?)
6 ~ blue or blue tip Tenius (they stand out)
7 ~ an Efflo
8 ~ some sort of tri color
9 ~ A table of some sort
10 ~ a deep water acro

Yea ok... I can only think of 10...

I would love to have Acropora milleporas of all color morphs, pinks, roses, blues, purples... they're just so beautiful with their polyps and scale-like corallites.
Another plus for milles is that they are quite hardy!

A. echinata is another one of my favorites!
