Blue Wave VII ballast

Jeez, tried using the search function for close to an hour and no dice.

I'm looking at picking up a BW VII (dual 250hqi mag ballast) for some 250 ro3's firing 14k hammys or Pheonix hexarc's. Just wondering how the reliability has been for everyone with the bw VII's.

Anyone have any comments?
Thanks for the info.

considering its a mag ballast, it should last for years.. plus i tihnk SLS has a 5 year warranty on the ballast. i've never had any problems with the 2 BW ballasts i've had which are a BW 7 and BW 3

Where do I find these Bluewave ballasts. I too am looking for 250 HQI and was stuck on either the PFO or the Coralview. I hear these Bluewaves are excellent.

Sorry if this is a hijack.

I purchased the exact unit you are talking about (as well as a 250HQI single) from eBay for a good price. A to T Lamps is the seller's name, if my memory is correct. The guy has a store front in eBay and can also take requests for items not currently listed for auction. Check him out.

The ballasts both work great, by the way.

Are the Bluewave III and VII both Magnetic? Is the only difference that the VII will fire 2 bulbs where the III only fires one?

FWIW, in general all of the online dealers price match.

Is their a difference between the PFO magnetic ballast and the Bluewave Magnetic ballast?

Why did you choose one over the other?

Just curious.

I bet the internal ballasts are very similar. One reason to choose one over the other is to match it with the plugs on your pendants. In my case I have ROIII pendants so I got the Bluewave ballast.

I have a PFO Hood with DE bulbs. So I guess it would be easier to just get a PFO magnetic ballast.

Does anyone know how different the plugs are between PFO and Bluewave ballasts?

sorry to revive this but I am looking at getting a dual 250 HQI bluewave setup. Has anyone had issue with the single power cord?
