I went fishing today and look...
...this is what I caught. Honestly 3.5 hours fishing and this is all I caught.
Cna anyone out there tell me what type of acto this is and what I can put him in. I have an extra 10G nano and wouldn't mind putting him in there but seeing as how saltwater tanks are only 9 months new to me, I think an octo is a bit more extensive. |

Give some more information about where you caught him and at what time and we should be able to help.

I have been looking for one of these. I never have the time to go to tamps though. as far as I have heard tampa seems like the only place to catch these dwarf octos. Let me know if you odnt want and might be interested in shipping over night. Thanks!

Honeymoon Island, off of Dunedin, Gulf of Mexico...I have a 2nd house in Dunedin...I love fishing there, I have good luck at Pier 60...always catch a bunch of fish that cost a fortune in a store. Look downs, triggers, parrot fish, grunts, etc. Best thing to use is a sabiki rig that has small pieces of fresh shrimp ground into it. If all I get is bait fishes than I make fish food.

Did you keep him or turn him loose?
An O. Mercatoris would be fine in a 10 gallon. Throw in a fiddler and squeeze some cyclops-eeze in ever-so-often. They tend to stay nocturnal and are very shy though, not the funnest octopus. |
