Dosing calculator for adding KNO3, KH2PO4 etc

Sorry for the repost but this issue will definitely appear again, so it's own thread will be useful.

If you have never used one before, ahhhh.........you are in for a treat...............very useful and no chem needed.

See here for a free downloadable version:

http://www.csd.net/~cgadd/aqua/art_plant_aquacalc.htm

http://www.csd.net/~cgadd/aqua/art_...dosage_calc.htm

Adding a known amount of KNO3(in grams etc) to a known water volume(in mls) is how we make standard reference solutions used to calibrate and check the accuracy and precuision of a test method.

You can also find these materials(KNO3, KH2PO4 etc) at

www.gregwatson.com

who has service next to no one.

Fleet enama is also a source for PO4(drug stores sell them), and stump remover can also be found locally(make sure it's KNO3, Grant's and Cooke's brands are the better brands)

So you can easily dose dry or dose with a pre made solution of KNO3 in water to accurately add say 5ppm to your tank with now chem, no weight scales etc. Your accuracy is more than any Lamotte or Hach test kit also within the usable range.
Much easier than fumbling with testing all the time.

Regards,
Tom Barr
