Help with snail ID please

I have noticed a lot of snails in my 55 which i cant id,they are almost oval in shape and look like a nipple.
about 3mm long and i have loads of them.
any ideas and are they good or bad?

kinda tough without a pic, but it sounds like it may be limpets.

thanks, but they dont look like these.
to look at them from above they are almost transparent round the edges and dark in the middle.
they seem to be gathering more around the shaded areas of the tank,(back glass below the lr line and around the powerheads)

I also have these nipple like snails in my tank. I'm curious as to what they are as well.
