green algie back on glass

The green algie's back shut lights off for three days. Did not affect problem much. Have it on back glass and on glass around bottom of tank where glass meets sand. Magnetic scraper won't touch it. It's been said here leave it alone it will go away I've had it two months now. water tsts good no phosphate . runing lights 10 hrs. Will it help to cut back to 8 hrs ? Will it bother corals ect to cut lighting back ?

You have to clean the glass on any system. Newer tanks you have to clean it more. No matter what you do you will have to clean some alge off the glass. Best thing to do is cut back on nutrients, alge needs food to grow. 8 hours a day sounds good for the lights till you get this under control. What kind of water are you using?

Are you talking about hair algae or just the green single celled algae that usually sticks to glass? It's normal to have this second one. I clean my glass every 3 or 4 days because algae starts appearing. You may need to do it more often if your tank is new. If you have green hair algae you have nutrients in the water from overfeeding (I know you said you don't), high bioload, poor filtration, or maybe your tank is still cycling. Even after you take care of the nutrients in the water, most of the hair algae present in the tank will need to be manually removed (siphoned) out.

I too have the 2nd type. I heard it's good algae.
