Better to Y or series 2 phosban reactors?
I just ordered 2 phosban reactors (to run phosban/carbon). What would be the best way to run them? Should they be ran in series or should I T them off with seperate feeds?

If you run them in series, put the carbon first. Parallel is also fine. GFO first will just use expensive GFO to bind organics that take binding sites that phosphate wants, when you could otherwise just use cheaper carbon to bind organics.

I also have 2 reactors and I run one pump and tee it off at the top and use 2 valves to get the flow I want. I open the carbon all the way and open the phosban only enough to get the media to tumble. Once a week I open the phosban side all the way for 20-30 seconds to get a blast through the media so it wont bind up and clump.

I run two minis separate for each--not expensive and easier to control the flow through each. I find the phosban has to have less flow through it then the carbon or it heaves to much.

Wouldn't going through the carbon first slow it down enough?

IMO the pumps were 12 dollars each and the reactors come with valves---better to have separate and have more control over them.

Well I already ordered a pump with it that is enough to run both (Maxi-Jet 606), I'll just T it off of the one pump. Thanks for all the replys.
