Placement of electrical components

Hi,
Could you please describe where do you install the power plugs, timers, controlers... inshort all electrical components of your tanks?
I was wondering if it's safe to place all the controls behind the stand or would it be risky because of the risk of spills or maybe leaks.
Any pics of your setups would be greatly appreciated.

not sure what kind of stand you have?
mine is brick but the top is wood, I bought 2 yellow box looking plug/cords from lowes they hang kinda like a phone on the wall.
They are gfci power cords so no worry of a shock and they each have 4 plugs. This gives me 8 total (plenty enough) I mounted them inside the stand but to the lid... (The bottom of the tank)
They hang upside down so no worry of water getting in them
(like a plug in the ceiling).
Sorry no pic. But I hope this helps w/ideas

I placed both of my power strips for my Profilux controller inside the stand. I'm trying to avoid having any equipment visible outside the stand.

i hung my stuff on the wall behind the system and also have a couple ballasts on top of the stand well above the water/lights, everything. i'm rigged for catastrophic tsunami
