do not drink from the DI side, it is a waste of DI and it is up in the air at this point if DI water is good for you. There should be an RO only output which will be perfect for drinking water and not waste DI

Where is the Ro only output on the unit?

i'm not sure there is one to tell you the truth, most systems have an RO only output. You can easily add one. I would recommend contacting spectrapure if this is something you are interested in. If there is an output maybe someone will chime in

Even if there isn't it is simple enough to plumb in you would merely need a T fitting, a ball valve, and a length of tubing for the RO only output. Simply cut the tubing between the RO membrane and the DI filter. Insert the T fitting between the two and attach the tubing and ball valve to the unused fitting. Now you have an RO only output.

I would take a minute to bypass the DI and set it up to make drinking water. For a couple minutes and a couple $$ you can have awesome, healthy drinking water.

The top selling "purified" bottled waters are nothing more than RO water. It cracks me up when people buy these systems for their tank and then continue to buy bottled water for themselves. Or worse yet, drink the ?? water from the tap.

Drinking the DI water is not harmful in any way but it is a waste of good DI and you will find it does not taste very refreshing, kind of bland.
Get a RO bypass. Its basically a John Guest Tee and a ball valve, thats it. I have my MaxCap hooked up to a 14 gallon pressure tank so I have RO water all the time and use it for drinking, ice maker, cooking and other uses. It also then flows back to the DI so I have pressurized water to make DI faster.
