Bristle Worms
I have some long thin worms crawling out of my rock at night. I see them with a flashlight. Should i do anything about it? If so, what ? And what fish will eat them? This is a 120 gal Reef tank with live sand Bed and 150 lbs. of rock. They look like bristle worms.

There is no way that I can catch on or even photo it. I have a lot of Fiji rock which has many deep holes which are interconnected internally. There must be some nightime feeder that would find them tasty, so they don't overgrow the tank. I don't see any harm in them either, but I'm not sure. Follow this thread.

They are probably Bristle Worms. They can get quite large. I saw one once that was better than 1.5 feet in lenght! They are,in essence, part of the clean-up crew and will eat left over food, etc. I have read they are corrallivores or if, large enough, they can eat an anemone. (See Sprung and Delbock, The Reef Aquarium, Vols. I and II). If you are concerned get a 6 line wrasse, they love to eat them; but they will eat any worms you have in the tank. The alternative is a trap. Most LFS should have one or order one from Marine Depot.
