Baffled by Baffle

Putting together my 30 gal sump but could use your help. By the pic i've attached, you can see I have 3 baffles in place, your standard over, under, over design. I have an extra baffle the same dimension as the other that I would like to put in to help keep the bubbles to a minimum, but i'm unsure on how and where to place it.

Any ideas on what to do?

making it another under between your first and the skimmer would help with the bubbles more then anywhere else.

Damn Dragon_slayer, you were just itching to respond to something. That was quick!!

Do you think putting it the same distance away as the others or opening it up a bit would be better?

the spaceing depends on flow.

the more flow the more space you need or the flow will suck the bubbles through the baffles with it.

Just to make sure, this might be a stupid guestion, but the water level in the skimmer area will be at the height of the first 'over' baffle correct if I put one in before it as an 'under'?

it will be slightly above the height of the highest (regardless of where it's located in relation to first or last) over baffle. as water flows it will make it about a 1/4" above the level of the baffle.

That's what I figured, throw another baffle in there and I get all screwed up. Or maybe it's the silicone i've been smelling for the last 3 hours.

Thanks for the help, appreciate it.

you'll only get screwed up if the new baffel is placed in as an over and higher then the others. think of it like this, the highest baffel will set the depth of everything behind it, just like damming up a river, if you build a dam higher downstream from a shorter one, it will flood the old dam when it fills to the height of the now higher one.
