Need IDs Please!!!

We are new to the hobby and were going to start our own tank from the ground up. It was going to begin FOWLR, but we ended up buying an established tank from a friend of a friend. He was a fan of corals, but we have no idea what we actually have in the tank. We'd appreciate some help IDing these guys.

If we're right we believe these are mushrooms:

We appreciate any help in identifying our new pets. Thanks!!

1. Looks like anthelia or what's known as waving hand

2. Green Star Polyps (on second thought, can't really see the green center in your picture thus could be the same as 3 below).

3. Brown version of Star Polyps

4. Looks like a close up of Brown Star Polyps

5. Not sure. Could be some kind of Colt Coral or Finger Leather Coral. The shape of the branches is unfamiliar to me.

6. Mushrooms.

Except for the one I'm not sure of, everything else is pretty basic and easy to care for.

Best of luck,

Roy

5 is a bleached out birdsnest (it's an sps coral, needs high light, a lot of flow)

Looking at 1, 3 & 4, they are very streached and the birdsnest like mentioned, is bleached. What kind of light is on the tank?

Nice call on number 5. I have a pink birdsnest; but, the branches are no where near as long. Because of the shape of the branches, I originally didn't think SPS but some sort of softie. Yet, with the position of the polyps I think you are totally right.

Best of luck,

Roy

2 does have bright green centers. The tank came with two metal halides, but we are unable to mount them. They were suspended from the ceiling at the house we brought it from. I bought the hooks tonight to hang them up. We have a hood coming on Monday for our actinics. We did not think about the lighting before we moved the tank and now we're regretting not being prepared. Thanks for the IDs. We really appreciate it!!

That birdnest is crazy cool. When I frist looked at it i though of a tree getting blown by strong wind . Also looks like Bonsai (the mini tree not the coral)

New set of photo
1st looks like some kind of macro or micro algea of some kind. Im thinking its not good kind since it looks like its killing part of the coral in pic 3?

2nd zoo's or its related family reaching for more light.

3rd another form of birdnest?

These are not the best pics but these are the three decent ones I got once the meatal halides went up.
This is the green star polyp:

These are the brown star polyps:

Also the anthelia and the other one that appears to also be a star polyp do not seem to like the metal halides. Do I just need to move them lower in the tank?

I got those few pics with the MH. Here are some pics that Jay took last night with the true actinics.

Griss informed me of how to better acclimate the corals to the MHs. Do they need acclimation time to the actinics too?

Do the Zoos like the actinic or the MHs? They haven't come out since the night we moved the tank. The pic above is how they've been since Monday morning.

Nicole and Jay,

you might want to adjust the white balance. Zoo's can be lower down in the tank vs the sps which need a lot of light. It depends on the zoo since ive seen some really like the light and others don't.
