Geris, your tank has to be one of the best tanks I've seen. The coral selection and color's are awesome. I'm also curious about the lights your using.

That is a nice setup Graveyardworm. Keep us posted on the progress of your tank.

Is that an Indo or Aussie elegance? How long have you had it and what kind of lighting is it under? Sorry for all the questions but I am still in the market for an elegance but haven't had much luck. Not with the Indo ones anyway.

Thanks.
I don't think your question is directed for me?? But I did buy an elegance over the weekend--I'll post a pic when its settled in.

Thanks! That elegance got to our tank, as a small piece and in a year, it has grown incredibly. One thing I know it likes is flow, at first it was in the middle of the tank, but know its at the bottom and either height it has loved, but the flow has been key to its development. Not to hard but sufficient flow for its tentacles to be in constant swaying.

Thanks audio! The coloring of corals has been a key factor in the selection for this tank, im glad you noticed.

What I use for lighting is very simple: a current usa satellite power compact setup, with 4 65w bulbs: 2 daylights 10,000k and 2 actinics 7,100k (thus the intense blue spectrum). It comes with moonlights but I never use them.

these are great tanks--beautiful corals---could you possible add a sentence or two describing your water parameters, lighting and feeding. I know I would and I am sure others would learn alot more from your successess.

perameters:

salinity 1.025
calcium- 430
Alk- 9.8 dkh
nitrate- 5
mag-1200-1250

thats all i really test on a regular basis unless somthing looks bad

Feed twice a day, usually flake once, and frozen (strained) once

On a totally irregular basis Ill feeed DT's, or reef nutrition rotifeast or phytofeast

nems get fed 3 times a week.

lighting - 2 - 250 watt mh's - 14K coralviews (love them) and 2 actinic t5's (sunsystem blueline)

all these tanks look fantastic, Im really growing a big love to acans!
