Thanks.
Went from 26g, to 55g, & now to 90g...all within 8 months. What an ordeal it has been, should have just went with a 90g to begin with.

Problem now is that it looks empty after the transfer, whereas my 55g seemed a lot fuller. Will have to go coral hunting soon!

BTW, I will never do a tank any way other than BB. Thanks to all the pioneers!

Congrats, Jerel!
I might as well ask my question here:
what is the large purple gorgonian growing in 'Starboard Reef'?
(It looks like one of those commonly called 'Purple Blades'...)
LOL

Gary, I don't know why the pet business insists on selling gorgs that are hard to keep, and purple blade is one of the hardest. That gorg in the tank is Muriceopsis flavida, which is east to keep - but never sold in the pet business.

That's just plain silly. Also, leads me to think what are you up to here?

If you don't post any pics [including of the `incredible baby blue stag'] ... you can expect the machinery to start arriving Monday

Now that you've set history for the world's most bloated thread ... time to fill a second one up

It's a dirty job but someone had to do it.

My photographer is coming in a few more days, I'll see what we can do about pictures. Be forewarned, I got tired of the stags and took them out. They had grown to the surface so I couldn't do a decent water change, made a tangled up mess so I couldn't even get my hands in the tank and when I did I either broke them or got all cut up.

I'm not baiting you, if that's what you are asking. You are advocating a method and components of this method in your tank happen to be starboard and boosted flow from eductors. However, many (most?) people are just looking for a recipe, not a method. Some people take from this thread that if they put a sheet of plastic in the bottom of their tank, and put eductors on their returns (regardless of wether their pump is rated to drive eductors) it will solve all the problems, especially nutrient-related problems, they have ever experienced. If they don't understand what is going on in their tank, it may not. My question was directed towards that.

I do think it would interesting to see your tank re-visited in its current form as RTOTM. Is that already in the works, or do members need to nudge the RK commitee in that direction?

Piercho, if people where to read that thread, they would see that there is more to it than just putting a piece of plastic and lots of flow.

If people fail to read and research a method and then have problems with it, they can only blame themselves.

I'm not interested in being TOTM at all. Here's the old TOTM picture.

and here's a fairly current one that Greg took.

There it's been re-visited.

You know what?? I forgot!! It's the aqua something with the drop in coil. I think it's either a 1/3 or 1/2.
When you size a chiller it's important to tell the manf not only size and flow, but how much you need to draw down. Let them size it for you.

I would do a 180 exactly the same way as this tank.

There's so many people that have gone BB/Starboard now, and for so long, I think they would chastise anyone that didn't do it right.
