Painting PVC

I am setting up my closed loop and was wondering can you spray paint the outlet sitting in the water. Any sprays paints people have used that was safe for it to sit in water.
thanks for your time in advance.

Krylon fusion, but make sure you let it cure for several days before sticking in the tank. Instructions recommend 7 days of cure time.

i just used rustolleum black multipurpos for my background, is that ok?

should i be worried about the external overflow being siliconed to the paint? would hate for the overflow to fall off one day.

if you want it to be purple/coraline coler, then paint it with the purple primer pvc glue, just make sure it dries well before in water.

I painted my closed loop with krylon fusion. A year and a half later most of it is gone. I think my snails and lawnmower blenny did most of the paint removal. Now my pvc is covered in coraline algae which looks better anyways.

krylon is the only way to go on pvc. Use a gloss buster first like the pipe cleaner used before glueing parts together. You can also use sandpaper but it roughs up the surface too much.

I used the Krylon fusion on my CL also... Like someone else said, after a year it is pretty much gone and most of it is covered in coralline algae.
