Amanda, how big is the tank in this picture? Looks so sweet on that stand. Is that the 75 I've heard you mention?

Good morning everyone and happy Saturday

I had fun chattin glast night on yahoo with everyone, great reef talk!!! If anyone else is interested in chatting about reefs or anything for that matter, just PM me and I'll get you all set up!

Kris, I shot the video with my Canon G5 camera

Marybeth, I got my sand from Premium Aqutics, I bought their last 2 bags, however, the sand comes from CaribSea Inc. If you call Caribsea 888-461-1113 they can tell you the name of a LFS closest to you that carries it. If the LFS doesn't have any, they'll drop ship it to you. The sand is called Tahitian Moon Sand and it's product # 00821 Labeled as Tropic Isle Tahitian Moon Sand, it comes in 20 pound bags.

Mike D, Hi!! Welcome to the thread! I got the tank from my LFS Preuss Pets. They ordered a couple Pallets in of them, they might ship, I'm not sure. You could go to their website for more info or to call them www.Preusspets.com But, being that you are in Chicago, I'm sure their is a LFS with them close to you!!

Mario, ok, I"ll get some pics of stuff I want in there.

Nexdog, Hi!! And Welcome to my thread!! Yes, that is my pride and joy!!! That is a 75 gallon. You can read all about it at my website if you click the little red house next to any of my posts. If you have specific questions, feel free to ask!!

Thanks Josh for putting up the link!!

NOw, I have a cool little video to show you all from my 75 gallon I shot yesterday. I was in the middle of doing a water change, had both arms in the tank, all the PHs turned off when I kept seeing white puffs of "smoke" if you will. Well when I investigated a little closer, I found one of my stomatella snails was shooting sperm into the water and another snail behind it was spraying eggs into the water. I was so excited I grabbed the camera, but while I was videoing, I forgot the name of the snail and it's kinda funny to listen to. Anyhow, if you'd like to see it, it's right here. I also took a couple pics...

Pics of the snail...

I'll try looking around today (gotta get some gravel for a 12gal nano cube that'll be used for my wife's brackish puffer). I really like the JBJ product compared to the system 6 we used to have and think it would be great for a small softie coral prop tank with maybe a couple of damsels or soemthing to keep it interesting... Your tanks look great!

My stomatellas breed like rabbits as well. I have a second variety of small snail that's so prolific it's almost to the point where I'd call it a pest, but they're so good at keeping the glass clean that it's a nice touch. Plus, they're tiny so they don't really get in the way or knock andything over.

I've been eyeing one of these for my office, guess I'll follow along and see if there are any issues. I'm not for sure if I would add much more rock, sometimes less is more. Anyway good job so far!

Carpetride, Hi and thanks!! Ya, I'm not into a tank with more rock than water

I have a lot of aquascaping to do yet. A cave was mentioned by someone in this thread and I'm going to take his advice and do it I'm going to the LFS today to get more rubble for the filter area. This is so exciting!!!!!

Amanda and Amy!

My Red Brain a year ago under PC lighting in my old 29g tank, and now here today under T5's during the tanks feeding time. I think it responds better under my T5 lighting.

Amanda, When are you going to order your new T5 Lighting for your 75g?

Like many of you I went to my LFS and bought a T. squamosa clam that I have been wanting; the sun was shining when I got up this morning and I needed DT's too so off to the store I went.

Here is a picture just a few minutes after being put in its new home. I hope you like it.

Nice Dwaine!, it has some nice color too. I had a Squamy a while ago in my 29g and should have kept it. I traded it for the Purple/Blue Maxima I still have since last December when I switched my lighting from PC's to T5's. The Maxima's one year anniversary will be at the end of this Month.

Hi everyone!!

Nate, I'll have all kinds of posts!!!! I'm looking for red grape calupra, can't find it though. I'll have some gorgonians, and different kinds of posts!

RJ, great pics and great brain!!!!!!

Dwaine, glad you liked the video. I like your new squamy!!!!!

Well, once again I was at the LFS. I picked up a small heater, 15# live worm rock(expensive!) and 2 1/2 pounds more of rubble.
I know have 4 1/2 pounds of rubble in the back first compartment for filtration. And I now have around 35-40 pounds of rock for the main tank. I also picked up more DT's and I'm going to try a new food product tonight for my fish. I bought oyster eggs! You keep them in the freezer, but they never freeze, weird!

Anyway, I plan to do my final aquascaping tonight so I can let the tank cycle and settle in peace. It still only has a slight odor to it, we'll see how it smells in the morning after having added all that rock. I can't wait to order my detrivore kit!!!! I haven't done a water change yet, but I'm thinking about doing one on Sunday.

That's all for now!!

Amanda

Thank you RJ, my clams, sps, and lps do well under MH but stuff like the ricordia in the background are not fond of MH lighting they need PC or T5 to really do well or raise the MH 3' up .

Take care,
Dwaine

My little friends, added yesterday...

My rock is Tonga Ultra from Dr. Mac. The tank cycled pretty quickly & never had to bad of a smell.
