aging water???

is it true your supposed to AGE water for a week before putting it in your tank???

Don't think so...

Way back when, you left water exposed to air, in order for Chlorine (in the tap water) to evaporate. These days, most city water uses Chloramine instead, which does not evaporate. The only way to get it out is to use chemicals to break it down.

In a reef, you'd want to use RO/DI (not tap water), so the Chlorine/Chloramine shouldn't be an issue...

I do it.... In a sealed 5G HD bucket. Better safe than sorry. It is just easier to refill the bucket after a WC. that way in case you ever have an emergency you have SW ready and waiting...

hum...if your bucket is sealed....are you sure stuff will still evaporate???

He puts the lid on the bucket probably because he DOESN'T want any evaporation...

correct. no need to evaporate.. It is ro/di and salt... not tap water. I let it age to let temp acclimate and PH settle...etc...

Oh yeah, I also have a rio 50 in the bucket to keep the water moving
