Hopefully there are enough Ricordia Floridas and other Carribean species in captivity to keep them from going extinct. It's sad to think about, but at this point I'm sure that my daughter will learn about the "Extinction of Coral Reefs" as part of her history lessons once she is in school.

it is ironic that those groups who were successful in getting a ban on taking any Florida live rock and most coral may have inadvertently caused the extinction of some species of coral.
If the coral was in our tanks it wouldn't be dying on the reef's now. |

I think it would still be dying. But it would certainly be easer to repopulate it later.
