nano-reef.com
Well, I have seen some things that I would consider cruel. I saw a 10g with a yellow tang in it and a 29g with a blue tang in it. Both are things I would consider cruel, you? Those people are very sedistic and when someone says something they flip out. There was one guy who put a crab in his tank and it died. The advice he was given was to keep adding them until one lived. They openly admit to going through some 20 crabs. Cruel?

I guess it may not be everyone, but everyone I have had interaction with and most that I have read is very similar.

This thread is walking a fine line, guys. Reef Central does not permit bashing of other sites. Keep it factual, and no bashing or I'll have no choice but to close this thread.

I didn't mean to bash. Just curious as to what others thought. This has just been my experience over there.

I'm NOT trying to squelch the exchange of information. I just wanted to be sure you guys (and anyone else that posts on this thread) know it's important that you stick to facts.
Reef Central is considerably larger than other boards designed around similar interests. We like to be bigger than bashing. I am not insinuating that there is anything wrong yet, I only want to keep it that way.

I've seen a few threads there where no one speaks out against having a tang in nanos, but in most other cases they do speak out. Overall I think its a good site.

I go to both sites nano-reef is my favorite becuase I don't have a tank over 29g. Reef Central is jam packed with info though and the classifieds are great. Another thing about RC is you can get a answer fast which is great! I like em' both.

Practically everywhere you go you will encounter some idiots. The majority over there don't look too kindly on keeping a tang in a 10 gallon.

There are people at reefcentral too who keeps tangs in nano tanks but that doesnt mean all rc is cruel, just that person.
I do call everyone cruel who keeps tangs in anything under 75gal tho

Cruel and wrong, but I'd call it ignorant and callous rather than sadistic. I don't think these people need a sock and some alone time every time they see something suffer in their tank; they just don't care. Personally, I don't have a big heart for crabs, but anyone who goes through 20 isn't too bright, if nothing else. Anyone keeping yellow tangs in a 10-gal ought to be informed, because that's a pretty bad choice, too.
Don't small tank people know yellow comes in more shades than tang? Sad, really.

heh, and i saw a whale shark in an aquarium. Im very serious tho. They keep one or two of them with manta rays in a public aquarium in Japan i guess. I dont really know if they have enough swimming space or not tho
I am SURE, one day people will start to keep blue whales in public aquariums
