WTB(orrow): Tablesaw for cutting acrylic

Not looking to do this immediately just trying to feel it out and see if anyone local has one they would be willing to let me borrow.

Within a month or so I am going to be starting a DIY Sump/Skimmer and have other tools I need (router etc...) But I don't have a table saw and I am trying to not spend $100+ on a new tablesaw just for this project.

I am willing to put a cash deposit for the tool until it is returned. Just trying to keep this within a budget.

Thanks,
Mitch

you are welcome to use mine. I live kind or far thought. the best thing would prob be getting all you measurements together and just cut it at my place so you don't have to drive back and forth 4 times. by the way mine is a large commercal model. It would be hard to fit in a car. only thing I would ask is you buy a blade becase the acrylic will kill the blade. Let me know.

Thanks! I am kind of looking for just a small basic saw I can take home as I won't be cutting everything at once and will probably change designs if something doesn't work as I would like (skimmer). I would definitely buy my own blade if needed(just curious but I was under the impression that blades for cutting acrylic lasted forever).

nothing is forever except death.the blade life will depend on thickness of material, amount of cuts and feed speed.usually a good carbide blade can go months without resharpening.'if you do buy a blade, get a blade desinged for cutting acrylic(usually 80 tooth)

Haha, well I didn't actually mean forever . I will be cutting small pieces 1/4" & 1/8" at a longest length of 2' so I imagine it would cause barely any wear on a blade designed for cutting acrylic.

I'm in NE St. Pete, or will be in a week, and have a big cabinet saw you can use (if you don't find the portable). Not to take home of course. That 600+ lbs was a bear to move.
