Mushroom control advice

Anybody have any advice for controlling mushrooms? I have a strain of purple/blue ones that are reaching plague proportions and need to be brought under control. My tank is a 10 gallon nano so i'm a little leary of using a kalk injection or paste, any advice or suggestions?

you can manually cut them off at the foot with a pair of scissors and remove them. Shouldn't be that hard in a 10 gallon
