I have requested the day off and it was approved so I will be there barring catastrophe. Look forward to seeing everyone and talking about some things.

I haven't gotten the day off, but I'm going to try to be there anyway, even though it'll be a logistical nightmare.

I will miss this one. Like I was telling OldSalt, its our 7yr wedding anniversary and if I were to choose a "fish" meeting over spending time with my wife, I'm likely to wake up the next morning to find all my fish floating belly-up.

Questions:

What exactly takes place during the business meeting and who is invited to attend?

I noticed a seperate meeting in Feb. @ the Gulfarium. Is this the same group or is this a different "club"?

How often do these meetings take place?

Will folks be bringing coral frags to sell or trade to either of these meetings?

Same group, different purposes for the meetings. Sunday will be to discuss the business side of the club. Some members want the club more formal, so we will be meeting to discuss if this is to happen. Everyone is invited. February is the regular club meeting where we all get together and swap/ give/ sell frags and discuss hobby topics like how to baffle a sump, etc..

I'll bring the laptop and maybe can cook up some stuff for the website while we are talking. I was thinking of using PHP or another language to make it easier to manage. Plus I might be able to make it user friendly to have certain people update the website, especially if I'm not available.

Well, dang. I just don't see how I can make it. I'll be down next month, but not this time.

The Louisville Marine Aquarium Society ( LMAS ) and Brooklyn Aquarium Society both have good examples of bylaws on their websites. They are quite different from each other, too, thusly being examples of two very different ways to go. The one I wrote for my own project is very different still from these. It's not hard to write one once you've figured out what you want it to say.
