FYI: The link for the San Diego club is wrong (or old), the current site is at SDMAS.com.

South Bay

Are there any reef clubs in the South bay area? Mostly closer to Redondo or Torrance because I live in Palos Verdes so the fartherst I would go is 30 minutes.

I live in Claremont and am looking for a Club also. I don't think there are any near us though.

Zeuss,
[welcome]

The closest to you would be MASLAC. We do have a few members from San Pedro, Redondo Beach, and Manhatten Beach. Maybe you could car pool with someone

zimmy1979, I thought that someone was trying to get a club together in your area?

I'd be interested to know if the IE thing ever took off, as well.

I mean, it's like we're out in the DESERT here, or something.

Oh, wait...

There are many Inland Empire aquarists that attend and joined SCMAS:

I live in the High Desert but work in Fontana.

There's nothing between here and there but traffic.

An IE group sure would be nice... I wonder who the most experienced reefer is out here, and if they could be cajoled into making it happen?

Anyone?

Beuller?

Try www.inlandreefs.net. It's still young. Maybe some day it'll be more consistent as more members join and have regular meetings. Good luck.

Just an FYI but we've just had another meeting... I've only been in that group for 2 months and there's been a meeting both months.

I'd say it's picking up a bit of momentum....

Can a mod please change the San Diego link in the first post of this thread to...

-The San Diego Marine Aquarium Society (www.sdmas.com) for the San Diego area

As it is now, .org leads to a useless holding/search page.

How about the North County Reef and Marine Aquarium Society of San Diego. We are affiliated with MASNA and hold monthly meetings on the 2nd Friday of every month.

NCRMAS.com

Would love a spot on the first page as well

This is the right forum for this question. Does high altitude have an affect on a reef aquarium?

This is NOT the proper thread for this... Not in my estimation, at least... It's better suited for the general forum.

At any rate, yes, I understand that it does because of the available oxygen levels. I don't think it's a major difficulty that can't be overcome, however.

Google it! Dollars to donuts (Mmmmm... Donuts...) you get some hits!

:P
