The phone # are in the original file at the end of the addresses. I am testing on how to clean up the file so it displays better, maybe in rev.2.0

If anyone has a shop that I missed, or a mistake, please let me know.

Thanks guys.

Thanks Konadog for updating the LFS list. Let us know when you get rev 2.0 or added the San Diego LFS stores as well.

For those with TomTom you can also create .bmp graphic so your POI will have an icon. Just place it in the same directory as your POI with the same name. My fish store POI icon is a Yellow Tang

cthetoy, I forgot to include the .bmp, I just had a blue fish. I'll work on adding the other stores this weekend.

OK, here is Version 2.0 of the So. Cal LFS GPS Point of Interest (POI) file.

Added more stores from Riverside and San Diego (now over 100 stores), fixed some errors, included a BMP to mark stores, included a README file that has some links on how to convert and install files.
Store phone # are included and should show up when viewing the POI in your GPS device.

Also included is the UCSB and Scrips free salt water locations as best I can estimate, these need to be checked as for accuracy of the final location, but will get you to the area (probably withing 200 feet).

Let me know if you find an error or a new store and it will be added to the file.

Have fun, and don't blame me if you spend too much $$$

Your doing a great service for all of us Ken. I uploaded V.2 but i cant seem to get any phone #'s to come up. Maybe its just a quirk for the TomTom that it doesnt display the Phone #.

Ed, if you can view your converted file (not on the Tom Tom), do they show up there?

Strange, it must be something to do with the Tom Tom. I know the Garmin only uses three columns.

Anyone else using a Garmin or Tom Tom?

Thanks, I'll add that link to the file. Glad to see some people using this for other GPS units.

Once you use the link

http://tomtom.gps-data-team.com/poi/csv2ov2.php

and convert the file, you just drop it into the USA/Canada folder turn off your tom tom, and you'll see a red box that says whatever you name the file.

Will this work on a Magellan unit? I just got back from Cost Co with one. Funny because your file of the fish stores pushed me over the edge to buy one Ken........

Sorry to hear that Steve

You would have to look and see what type of conversion needs to be done to use in the Magellan unit, but I'm sure it can be done by the looks of it so far.

I think these GPS are like TiVO's, once you use one for awhile you dont know how you lived without one before.
