If you would have looked at this forum you would have seen that the remora is on the bottom of the list for hot's. Its by far the worst out there imo hands down.

That being said, the micro's should cease alot after it breaks in which should take a week or so. Then you can start becoming frustrated with it.

Did WWM tell you it was great?

You'd be amazed how bad they are when compared to other skimmers.

I went with a Deltec MCE600.

Harsh.

The bubbles and the noise will subside after a couple of weeks.

Where can you buy the MCE600 in the US?

The bermuda rogue with a mag 5 will eat up any of the above skimmers hands down and will pull much more air. The mce600 will do around 500 and the rogue will do up to 1000lph. With a mag5 the rogue will do around 25scfh compared to the 17 from he mce600 and its much cheaper.

Either way I think a rogue or deltec will DESTROY the remora. Take my word for it, I used to own a remora until after 2 months it just stopped skimming. I'm much happier with the rogue and know what true skimming is about now.

Aqua C Remoras being great HOB skimmers is just a myth. I also bought into it 5-6 years ago. When I had it, I thought it did a pretty good job. But now that I have a Deltec MCE600, I realize that the Remora basically did nothing!

Yea, what a bummer about the remora. Definately the deltec mce600, bermuda rogue, turbofloater 3000, octo 300f and most likely the atb are the better hot's out there. Other than that i wouldn't run any others.

My Remora fills the cup daily with some serious nasty skimmate. It does have a Mag5 on it as opposed to the standard mj1200.
