I don't remember Tyree ever once stating that the frags he sold on the side with Frank in any way effected those waiting on the list, if he did I would love to see it, because him selling frags on the side may have not effected the list at all, we don't know. I think it is just speculation that it effected it.

this is the thread that never ennndddsss......come and post with me my friennnnddddsss....sing along if you know the rest.lol

the whole concept of LE is that they will only frag these items monthly,bimonthly,trimonthly....so if there is an abundance of these frags, what is the list for?? marketing. and thats fine.

Well, if you put your name on the multiyear list (no money exchanged), you have multiyears to find the frag. So you get ahold of the orginal farmer (named on Tyree's site) or find out that Billybob's House of Coral carries it, and purchase the coral two years early and for less. You take you name off of Tyree's list.

Who did the marketing benefit? Did it benefit the "Shady Tyree "? Nope. Billybob or the original farmer (who probably has the largest supply) benefitted because they weren't "Limiting" themselves. Who made the money and who was the "hype" generated for?

Uhhh, take that Tyree, you underselling fool!!! You just lost my $100 of potential sale because you limited the supply.

And during that period, 450 other people bought it during trade shows, club meetings, etc, under the false belief that they were getting a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity to purchase something that they would otherwise have to wait years for.. Thats where the profit is.

Thats not him. Its the environment he creates that does that. I've got a couple hobbiests near me that are the source for a couple of the LEs. One of them will post a frag for sale, and say its teh "Tyree Fancy Blue Panted Watermelon faced AcroChalice" or whatever, and will immediately get ripped apart by the "experts" saying "oh, the polyps on yours are slightly lighter, definitely not the same thing" or "the growth form on yours isnt as open, you're a fraud" etc etc etc.

Its no longer about the coral, its about being in the "LE club."
Thats not tyree's doing, but his methods most certainly encourage it.
