Cool, he used one of my photos. Didn't ask me, but I'm flattered anyway.

Peace,

Great article.

They used my pictures too, but they always ask for permission first. It's very flattering!

Thanks for the non-quick read Shane. Good article. I saw one of my pic's in there too.

That shady E-bay auction ended up being a sham/scam. It probably wasn't a good idea to present it as fact in the article.

I think it was meant to represent the ideas and actions of the individuals involved in the Acanthastrea craze. The one who listed the items in the auction would not have done so without the belief that there would be a positive response.

The article was mentioning that Acropora have become "weeds" like Xenia. Not because of they are undesirable, but because of their growth rate and availability.

Think about it, what type of coral do you see the most amount of frags coming from? When you think of the word frag, what type of coral first comes to mind?

well brad has some nice weeds i guess i missed the sarcasm!sorry i just like all corals and think its a funny thing to do to pigeonhole yourself into only keeping one type of coral and liking it so much you hate all other corals!

Wow. We’re back to this topic again. As an avid Acan collector, I thought this horse was adequately beat to death and I was not going to waste another keystroke in debating this again until I saw one of my auctions listed as an example.

Anthony, your layman’s attempt to define “Price fixing and trying to apply it to the EBay economy is completely WRONG. Price fixing only occurs when one tries to establish the price of a product or service, rather than allowing it to be determined naturally through free market forces. I cannot think of a more free market force than an auction which is open to the entire market of the entire Untied States of America.

A legal term you should make yourself more familiar with is Slander.

You know what amazes me most?
I seem to remember calling one of the authors of that article out for selling an 'overpriced' acanthastrea on this very forum a few months back. My, my, my. How quickly we forget?

I think spending $1000 for a coral (no matter how rare it is) is totally nuts. But if you have the money to burn, be my guest and drive the price up with high demand for a limited-supply item. We'll buy your frags for $10 each in a year or three when everybody has acans and they are as common as weeds.

Please keep the discussion on topic folks. The asking for frags questions and what not have been removed.
