You can always "frag" a chunk of the rock itself -- try a good chisel.

thats alot of work since the rock is quite big and there's a lot of other coral frags attach to it. the kenya is almost covering my other corals.

I haven't heard of kenya trees releasing any toxins. I would take a razor and cut them off at the very base and any flesh that's left on the rock cover with super glue gel or a little bit of two-part epoxy...if you leave any exposed flesh they will regenerate and start growing again, just like xenia.

before you try cutting, just grab them at the base and pull. almost all the time, they will just come off of the rock or glass that they are attached to.

You can also try placing a powerhead aimed directly at the base of the coral. Sometimes they will detach themselves and just float away.

That leads to another problem, finding the damn thing!

i'm constantly having to remove frags from my rock. if you cut the kenya off the rock, the base will just regrow. you need to pull it off the rock completely.

^^ what he said, I just sold about 15 frags, which I'd cut out of my 14g(yeah, that many) it slowly grows back, and makes for a great harvest every few months, but, annoying, nonetheless.

Their is only one right way to remove a Kenya.
Its depends on how big it is . You can remove it with a syringe . Fill it with hot ro water and inject it then draw the neddle back all the way . That will take care of the toxins from getting on your other rocks or frags let me know

I use a pair of forceps and pull them off the rock, they always come away, then I throw them in the frag tank. i do know they are easier to pull off when they first settle into a spot, the longer you wait the harder you have to pull. Dont worry about tearing them they are quite sturdy and very difficult to injure or kill.
