Surprise Find

Last summer I bought 4 or 5 lettuce nudis in an attempt to get rid of the bryopsis growing in my tank.

They had all died within a month or so, but not before some of them had laid a few egg clusters.

Last night, I saw a baby lettuce nudi (1/4 - 1/2" long) in my refugium!

That is pretty cool!!! I guess it is possible for captive cultivation of nudis...wonder if sea hares are the same way, since to me they look essentially the same...

Great find indeed!!

On a somewhat related note, late last night I saw an emerald crab releasing gametes into the water. At least thats what I assumed it was doing. It was standing on it's back legs with arms outstretch, and the bottom flap (whatever that part is called) was fanning up and down.

While I was redoing the rockwork yesterday, a couple of emerald crabs were inadvertently out of water for extended periods of time. I was wondering if those two events were related.

I don't dose Viagra, only human growth hormone.

The little guy decided to come out into the main tank to play:

I don't really expect him to last too long with the two MJmods in the tank, but . . . he has made it this far!
