What's the pressure tank for in an RO system?
My current RO/DI unit have a small pressure tank. I'm looking for a new unit to mount right next to the tank for ATO. What's the pressure tank for anyways? do I need it? Do you recommend it?

I took my tank offline. Dunno why, I just didn't like it. It's supposedly for holding a gallon of Ro water for use on demand. Never seemed to work right for me. In fact my water out the RO flows a little quicker without it now.

Pressure tank holds a given amount of water for on-demand use as stated above. Without use of a permeate (sp?) pump, you increase the back-pressure on the RO output and in turn decrease your RO systems efficiency. I used one for a couple years for the ice maker and door water on my fridge. Works fine but you definitely don't need it for a ATO setup.
