yeah, Awesome!. I'm putting all my rock on spindles too.
except I'm going all the way to the waterline, and putting a handle on top. then on cleaning day, I can lift the porta-bommie out by the handle and sloosh it in a 5-gal bucket to get the dust off.

seriously, that looks great.

tell me we aren't all super-thankful that live rock does not have the consistency of granite. it is more like really bad-@$$ dirt clods for drilling and digging etc

Thanks everyone,I would be interested to see if 1/4 inch acrylic rods with an acrylic base would be strong enough to support the rock. I would much rather drill a 1/4 inch hole rather than the 5/8 inch I had to drill with the 1/2 CPVC. I would think you could drill closer to the edge of the rock without breaking.I didnt feel like tracking down the supplies for the acrylic,Thats whats nice about the CPVC is everything you need is at Homedepot or Lowes.

Looks great. please post the progress whenever it's matured and grown in.

I plan to do a single pillar when I get around to setting up my old hex for a BTA tank.

Wow, awesome man. You gave lots of people idea's! I would think that really, it may not be necessary to glue the PVC. I mean it doesn't need to be leak tested. Although it might be OK to let it fill with water then cap it, to prevent any water stagnation, which might could be a bad thing. What do you think, about the stagnation? I am a little surprised that the LR didn't split, I do have to say it looks great, much nice than the rock wall look.

Cant take credit for the idea, there is a huge thread on here about pillars. I didnt think about the water in the Cpvc. I put caps on the legs but not the top, wonder if I should plug the top?Anybody got any thought on this?
