John, yours looks more like mine...Perhaps it does vary signficantly pending how much light/nutrients you have.

I had a nice sized ORA chip's acropora that was around 8'' big, but it bleached when I tired adding it to my new tank. I was very angry! It was my favorite piece. It grew out enough for me to get a look at how it grows. Mine grew almost like a table, but a little different. I believe the actual species is A. horrida.

I'll try and look through my many cd's full of pics to see. I just recently started to get a handle of taking pics so it might be a bad pic. So sad, I grew it from a 1'' frag too. It changed color to an almost lime green with purple tips.

Thats what where trying to figure out. I believe they grow bushy or irregular. Though mine had the look of a table and color similar to Horace's on the first page.

Here's a bad pic of mine when it was still a frag. The polyps were not out fully because I just moved it before I took the pic. The pic was taken just under actinic lighting, thats why its soooo blue.

Mine started out looking like the photo from the OP, then it went through a pastel phase (my avatar is the chips from that stage), now it looks like KEEPERZ above. It has always been super fuzzy, but the polyps were pulled in when I got the avatar pic.

Yeah, the more pics I see of the ORA chips, the more I am convinced, I have a different strain. It may be of the same species, but certainly a bit different. It seems the norm on this coral is brown/tan polyps. The polyps on mine are like LIME green, and it def grows in a table fashion just like the picture shows on page 1. This coral is a FAST grower too
