hmm, well I agree with you there, that side is greener then the front... I wonder if they did 3 sides of Low Iron/Starphire with the earlier versions? I remember seeing the date on a label on the tank. I swapped my barb ones for threaded so I could use Spa flex to plumb it. Check valves supposed fail. I have never heard of one do it, but just keep that in mind.

We are getting there.... I have finalized on my stocking plans, and I have my base rock sitting in my LFS system. It should be full of pods when I am ready. I am doing the plumbing next weekend for my sink, and RODI. I need to finish my return plumbing though. Shouldn't be to much longer.

hey guys, ive been following this thread for awhile now and after seeing how everyone loves there tanks i went out and bought one earlier today. got a tech 120 and i got it for 750. well the reason i am posting here is i am going to need to buy a new skimmer i was looking at a euro reef rs-250. do you guys think this is to much for the 120 or should i go with the rs-180? any help will be great.

Those of you that got the early production Oceanic Tech tanks are lucky. I've had my eye on a Tech 120... the local store has a display tank set up that is very nice. However, the new tanks are now using the cheap squared-off plastic brace at the bottom (a la AGA). The brace bowed in places, was uneven, and the silicone work was very sloppy. In contrast, the display tank (earlier model) had the classic tapered trim from Oceanic at the bottom. Apparently they've stopped using the nicer trim. Bummer...

yes it was 750 with tax got a damn good deal from a lfs. the lady who owns the store needed some live rock, had some i wasen't gone to use so she gave me cost on the tank. couldn't beat the deal she gave me. |

its a little store in st.cloud called ''A Fish Wish'' she has a little of everything more fresh water than salt but her prices are ok. she told me that she would sell the tank to a customer at i believe 830 plus tax.

My credit card is bleeding.
I still cannot decide on the lighting. under 1k unfortunately. solarflare t5 on risers or giessmen mh hanging? so far ive picked up a vortech, tunze 6000w/controller, RK2, new ro/di sys. MRC reefsump (hope it fits)

I went with the Solarflare t-5's last night, i couldnt afford the pendant I wanted. We will see....

I have had my 120g Tech since 10/06 setting empty. This week I tried to give A.E. my $$$ for only these items: 72"x30"x30"aquarium, 36”x20”x20” sump and 48”x30”x16” prop tank built by A.E.G but was basically blown off by a BS quote, they also tried to sale me equipment I didn’t want and a monthly service agreement. Who does not clean and maintain there own aquarium, what’s the fun in that!!!
So with all that said, "I’m in the process of purchasing equipment for my 120g Tech". 1. Aquactinics Constellation 48" T5 fixture or Sfiligoi Stealth T5 Pendant with KZ - Fiji purple and Coral white bulbs 2. MRC Reef Sump/Ref 36"x18"x18" 3. ATI BM200 4. GEO618 5. Midwest Aquatic Sulfur DeNITRIFIER 6. MRC Nilsen/Kalkwasser and MRC Fluidized Media Chambers 7. VorTech and Eheim pumps 8. TECO SeaChill with Ranco ETC Dual Stage Controller 9. Emperor Aquatics - SMART HO UV 10. Profilux 11. APC Batter Backup 12. Marshall Island Live Rock I will add pictures as I get the equipment over the next few months. I will be mainly keeping sps coral, angle, butterfly and wrasse |
