Octopus Skimmer Impeller stopping

I have a modded out DNW-200 that has been moded for about 6 months now. Never had a problem before, but now my pump is constantly shutting down on me.

The impeller seems to stop spinning inside. I take it out, cleaned it, rubbed it with some steel wool if any bumps and plugged in. About 6 hours runs and stops spinning so I unplug.

Have gone through this 4 times already.

Anyone having this problem, any ideas.

Increased flow in thinking could be overheating or may have to remod again.

Thanks.

Have you tried cleaning the pump with some vinegar? I suspect that the pump casing has expanded, but there might be calcium buildup. I just put the pump in a small container and add vinegar and water, then run the pump for a while.
