Live in concert!

What bands have you seen perform?
I was listening to my XM yesterday and 4 or 5 songs in a row, I thought to myself..."I've seen them"

(as best as I can remember, I'm sure I'll think of a few more)
in no particular order...

Asleep at the Wheel
Allman Brothers
Alvin Lee
Black Oak Arkansas
David Bromberg
Steve Goodman
Humble Pie
Johnny & Edgar Winter
Eric Clapton
Jack Bruce Band
Ginger Baker (very weird business/lunch sorta meeting)
Steppenwolf
The Who
Genesis
Gentle Giant
Rolling Stones
Bruce Springstein (3$ cover charge when he was playing bars in NJ before he went bigtime)

ahhhh, my misspent youth

Moody Blues
Jefferson Starship
Sly and the Family Stone
Jimi Hendrix
Crosby Stills & Nash
Golden Earring
Night Ranger
Young Rascals
Led Zepplin
Roger Waters
Neil Young
Sha-Na-Na
James Gang

Oh this is hopeless! I keep coming up with, "That Rock Fest in '71 there was....ahh....???"

Most memories involving music seem to be a bit hazy.

First thing I thought!

Aerosmith
Guns & roses
Pink Floyd
Seals & Crofts
Ted Nugent
Robert Cray
Stones
Los Lonely Boys
Ozzy
Gathering Field
Tom Petty
Hall & Oates
Bob Seiger & Live Bullet Band
Toto
Foghat

Sat in with Bruce Springstein at one of those 3 dollar cover charges back in the early 70's at The Stoned Pony. Was playing drums with a band back then, Bruce came on while we were playing and joined in for a few songs. I'm sure I forgot quite a few.

Hey at least you have that excuse. I was 17! And there was a group of people I knew going and I was invited. I declined because I thought it was a lame idea to travel that far to listen to music when there was so much "happening" right at home that summer.

Stupid, stupid, stupid!

I'm not really a concert goer. Did go to the blues festival last year tho. Does that count? I actually did see James Gang once.

Man I got you all beat.

I saw the King, Elvis, when I was a kid. 50 bucks for a nose bleed seat back in the early 70's. It was the one and only time he played in Dallas texas and I was there.

Let's see what I can remember:

Cat Stevens
Yes
Aerosmith
Samy Hagar
Journey
K.C. and the sunshine band
Chicago ( just this year )
Stevie Ray Vaughn ( free concert thanks to the Navy )
AC/DC

There are several others that I've seen but just don't remember them all. Some of them were country singers I saw at Billy Bob's in Fort Worth but since I'm not into Country, I don't remember who they were.

Also did one of the big summer jams at the Orange Bowl when I was staioned in Florida and there were a lot of big named bands there as well, just don't remember them all. That's where I saw Aerosmith who were starting a comeback. The main headliner was Journey.

I dropped in on a small club in San fransisco once and saw Boz Scaggs playing.

The Stevie Ray concert was during Fleet Week in San Fransisco back in '85. I was up there in school and a buddy and I had went down town for the night. Met up with some other sailors off of one of the ships that had pulled in. He told us there was a free concert down on the pier, just show our military ID and we were in. Went down, got some free beer, walked up to the stage and looked up. There was Stevie Ray, standing right in front of me, jamming away. Dosen't get any better than that.

When I was a kid, we used to go to Six Flags over Texas amusment park during the summer and they had concerst there on the weekends so I saw a lot of bands there as well.

When Mrs. Chevy and I went to see chicago earlier this year, I was talking to one of the guys I work with about it. Found out that he grew up with the guy who now plays Bass for them. Said the guy got a break right out of high school because his mom knew a few people and set him up with a audition. They were best friends and hug out together a lot back then.

Got a guy in my American legion post who played with one of the heavy metal bands back in the day. I think it was Iron Maiden or Iron Butterfly. I don't remember.

Here's one for you. I was sitting at LAX waiting on a flight back east for bussiness. I was eating lunch in one of the littel food places. A group of guys came up and asked if they could join me as there were no otehr seats around. I said sure as I didn't mind. Got to talking to them and come to find out, it was Thin Lizzy. They were out on tour again. Kind of funny in that they were more interested in what I did for a living than trying to play up all big and bad rock group. Just a bunch of normal guys in my book which I thought was cool.
