Copper treatment and LR in a QT

Wondering if I can treat a case of ich with copper in a QT and eventually return the LR to a reef tank after a few dillutions?
Or should I just remobe the LR now then treat?
QT tank is a 20 gal, with about 10#'s of LR,
Display is a 150 w/ 300#'s LR

QT should be bare bottom with things like plastic freshwater decorations or pvc pipes or clay pots for hiding. These can then be removed after the quarantining period and be sterilized.

Biological filtration should be a cylced air driven sponge or cycled media (i.e. bioballs or ceramic media) that have been cycled from the display tank or a tank cycled & maintained with ammonia. Again, these can be cleaned/sterilized after the quarantining period and returned to be recycled. I have several air driven sponges in both my display tank and a separate dedicated tank that I cycled & keep cycled with ammonia.

You need to remove the live rock & place in another tank, bucket, container with an pump/air stone. Do not add copper to live rock as it may retain copper which would be detrimental to a reef.

Best of luck.
