Reef Conservation Employment?
I'm a finance major in Texas and want to get into some aspect of Reef Conservation, overseas would be great. I am currently applying to the Peace Corps to try to get involved in their projects in Fiji or Tonga. If I don't get it is there any ways into this kind of career? Yes I know im a finance major and not a biology major but i have experience starting non profitsa and because of my hobby probably know more about reef life than some biology majors. I am currently in the process of hacking out an agreement between my school and the city bus company to start a non profit called Safebus to run a night route for college kids funded by local bars and college apartment complexes to keep kids from drinking and driving. I just want a job that fits my interests as well as my skill sets. Money isnt really an issue as long as it covers student loan payments. lol

The Nature Conservancy runs a number of programs world wide, including some reef oriented ones. However, any job announcements I've seen for those programs call for biology degrees among other requirements. Might still be worth contacting them about helping with fund raising projects, as that's something they always need so that they can run those programs.
