Why is it that your company can come to you and tell you they just fired your boss and expect you to pick up his duties until they find a replacement and you have to smile and say thank you... I mean if I told them I expected them to double thier daily production for the same amount of money they are getting now per day they would tell me to take a long walk off a short peir... Doesn't seem right does it. If I said NO I would be joining him, maybe not for saying no but they would find something to get me out the door and say I wasn't a team player...lol..team player.. Its all good as long as you play for the team they control. Sometimes life throws you a curveball and you get hit in the head...

I suppose you could look at it as a backhanded compliment, if your good enough to take over now, your good enough to apply for his job.

Not gonna happen...I already have all the authority I want. His job was to be the whooping boy for the COs to jump on when IT had a problem or needed additional funding outside the budget. I think I will pass, its not a big enough raise to make me wanna throw myself to the wolves. But it looks like I will be whether I want to or not, at least for now...

And everybody he has told that something couldn't be done, has stopped by my office to see if I will tell them the same. They want a YES man, that I am not.
