Help!

i bought the socks for filters and instead of washing them like i always do i just put them on the tank. well my skimmers went crazy with foam then once i got the socks out the skimmers had no foam and my tank is milky cloudy. i am running carbon, phosban and denitrate. i only have so much water for water changes which i will do, but has anyone had this problem and what happened?

were they brand new? when i bought mine i never washed them when first using and didn't have a problem. did you get them from somewhere that they could have gotten chemicals on them?

I'm not sure how a filter sock would cause this. i guess just hope carbon and such will remove whatever is causing it.

Did you check you phosphates? If they, or the fabric they were made from was washed with regular detergent and not rinsed well enough, you would have phosphates....that's what soap is really....Just keep running your carbon, etc...it will clear.....

When do you want to swap stuff???
