The good, the bad and the ugly......

Well, while I was enjoying myself overseas, it appears as if Sacramento experienced the worst storm in a very long time.

So the good news is that all of my fish surrvived. After 3 days w/out power, my roommate said the tank got down to 60 degrees Not much he could do, but its too bad he didn't even send me an email from his phone asking for advice

The bad news, my emp looks like it probably won't make it. It is covered with ich and has strange lesions all over its body Why do these things have to happen when I'm not home????????????? All I needed to do was rent a generator.......

The ugly, I lost all of my inverts with the exception of my anemones

Did I ask why these things happen when I was out of town?????????????

Jim,

Sorry to hear about your mishap. I know how you feel as I was in the same boat too.

If it's still eating... Soak dry food pellets in some juice from a jar of minced garlic.

I had a tang with parasites for about a week. I gave the garlic'ed food to the tang and it went from about 15 visible parasites to 0 in about 24 hours.

Sorry to hear about this, Jim

I think through all the mayhem and uncertainty during the storms, we never thought about notifying you via PM while you were on your trip.

You guys are great!

Yes, the emp is still eating and aggressive, although it looks like its been through a war. I fed it fresh garlic mixed with PE mysis last night and will do the same when I get off work tonight.

I'm gonna do a large W/C tonight and go from there.

Paul, Rafael, thanks guys!!!!!

Karl, I saw a post on here about the storm, but figured everything was fine because I didn't hear from my roommate. Then I emailed him and got no response, so figured there was no problem. Just miscommunication, bad timing and a horrible storm that all add up to the result.

Davey, thanks bud! I may have to take you up on that. Lets see how the tank is come Sat

Cheers,

Jim

Sorry about the mess! For the ich, fresh water dips have always worked best for me. Just remember to bring the PH to the right level.
