Watch out for the Condy stinging the Coral in the last picture if they are really as close together as they appear.

that does not look like a kenya tree...it looks more like a sinularia of some type. Especially with the mucus shedding in the second pic. I could be wrong, but....
this is more like a kenya http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...catid=2360&N=0 when you say salt was too high where was it at before? what is the placement of this coral in regards to the the height (lights) or as far as flow where is it in relation to the powerheads and how much flow do you have. these guys require quite a bit |

I would also check your params, i had the same issue when my ph monitor was off and my alk dropped below normal.
once i got the params back in check evrything was fine, i actually can tell if something is wrong now by what my colt coral looks like. It doesnt like alot of change. |

Correct, those are not Kenya tree's. I also dont think they are Sinularia, They are a Green Nepthea. I have lots of both in my tank. Both are green tree corals but the Sinularia is a darker green and has darker tan polyps which when retracted makes little dark brown dots all over it. The Nepthea is a more yellowish green and it has the same color polyps. I have found that they will develop black pits in them and start to decay when the nitrates are high.
Here is a pic of a couple of mine. the Sinularia is on the right and the Nepthea on the left. There is Keya Tree in the far left background. Last edited by ReefFreak3652; 12/19/2007 at 10:09 AM. |
