too many vermitids!
Does anyone knows how to control vermitid population?
Do we have any fish or other organism that would eat them without destroying zooanthids and other inverts? They are small in size but huge in population! Thanks, A. Grandis. |

I must've had multiple hundreds: they were half an inch apart, if you mean those critters that send 2 white tentacles out of an accreted tube. The purple tang thought they were delicious. I'm not sure he got all of them, but he does predate wormy things that aren't bristleworms. He's even tried a bristleworm, but changed his mind.

You're getting so many because they have plenty to eat.
The populations are self-regulating. Watch your feeding habits and they will eventually die off.

Hummmm... actually I have only 1 fish, a Yellow tang, and donīt feed too much. The algae in the tank is well controlled also. Nutrients are not too much also... They grow all over the place... There must be any natural predator. I canīt try Purple Tang because the one I have already is well stablished in the system.

My CBB ate them, but that was all he would eat and when he ran out, he ended up starving. I had him eating prepared foods for a while, but to no avail.
I dont reccomend buying one, but they do (usually) eat them.
