Cool! I need to start removing some of my xenias. They are starting to get too big. I don't know how long they will last in my QT when I get around to taking some out but I need to figure out what to do with them.

DW, watch the xenias. They grow quick and will overtake other corals. They also move around on their own.

That's not too bad. I have already lost $100 in fish. 1 blue tang and 2 purple firefish.

That was the first thing I checked. No sign of it in or out of the tank.

Just the firefish to the condy. I am only assuming the condy ate it, I didn't actually see it happen but I think it is a pretty good assumption.

Lights on for three hours now, no algae buildup what-so-ever.

My hammer has opened up huge, one condy is coming back to life.

Brian, this picture looks like something you'd see in a magazine.

Dennis, sorry to hear about your fish. Maybe it's still hiding and the condy didn't eat it, although you'd know better than any of us.

Bob, so what are you going to do now that you can't get your gulf rock?

Dave, glad to hear the tank is looking good. Can't wait to see pictures tomorrow.

For those of you who have sumps, how do you clean the bottom of them? I have all this crap on the bottom that I'd like to clean out, but just don't know how. When I did my water change over the weekend, I thought about sticking the pump in there and take the water from the sump, but then the junk would have to go thru the pump, which I don't want....and then the other problem is that it would suck out all the water before I got a chance to clean the floor. What's a person to do?

Well I got a new camera over the weekend. This camera is really for us to take on vacation but it took some fairly good macro shots.

Frogspawn is finally opening more.

You can see the stingers on the fire coral.

Hammer

My Kenya Tree wants to keep leaning off the rocks.

The last time I saw the firefish was on Saturday morning. No sign of it since. I purposely didn't feed the condy last week but since the firefish has disappeared the condy has done nothing but poop! I suspect it had a $25 meal the other day.

I think my condy will be evicted from my tank soon. It has gotten very large and is not very pretty anymore. I fear because it keeps moving around it will sting some of my corals also.

A few more:

Pulsating Xenias. I'm not sure why they have that brown look. Could it be not enough light? I don't remember them being that brown when I got them.

Horseshoe Worm

???

Elephant Skin

when I do a water change - I use a mag5 with six feet of flex (my everyday pump for this and that) on either side to pump 10 gallons out of my sump - all the while vacumning it

Thanks! I didn't really like it in the beginning but it does have some interesting wrinkles.

I got an Olympus Stylus 500.

I guess I need to get a different kind of pump then...because the one I use to pump water back into the tank on water changes, has 3/4" tubing, and it would pump much too quickly before I'd be able to remove the detrius from the floor.
