sps dieing at the base

I'm fairly new to sps corals and I noticed some of my acro's losing tissue towards their base. What is causing this and how can I stop it. I have a calcium reactor on my tank and the only thing that I can say might be off is my alkalinity. I am at 5.5mql which I think is a bit high and my calcium near 450. Could this be the cause? Thanks in advance.

Not sure exactly what info you need but I'll give you what I can. 75 gallon tank, 950 gal/hr pump, 2 maxijet powerheads, eororeef skimmer, Ca Reactor, 2 250watt 10k Hamilton hallides, 2 110 actinic VHO's. Hallides on for 6hrs & actinics 7hrs, Temp 79, Nitrates 1-2. I tend to keep the tank very clean. I do weekly water changes of 10-15 gallons using RoDI water. I feed the fish daily except Sat. & Sun due to the fact this tank in in my office. I hope this helps.

I'd go with flow for sure....IMO you need alot more flow that that.

In my 55 I had 2 MJ 1200's and a Tunze 6000. I still think i needed more.

Flow or Phos IMO. What is your fish list? You may be overfeeding them or your corals.

Flow problems generally show up as recession at the base.
